Breastfeeding with second baby

Hi mums
I am 38 weeks pregnant with no2. My first is 23 months. I struggled to latch on with him & ended up exclusively pumping for 3 months before combination feeding.
I’ve started to feel very anxious about feeding my 2nd. If I can’t latch on I just can’t face exclusively pumping again with a toddler to run around after too.
I was just wondering if anyone who had a difficult feeding experience first time round had better success second time around? I also feel anxious about breastfeeding this time if I didn’t do it first time, my toddler is so demanding that I am worrying how I will cope :-(
Thank you for any advice anyone can share x

Yes! I had a horrendous time with ds1. I did get through it, but with shredded nipples, constant mastitis/blockages, terrible latch, endless pumping.

I promised myself i wouldn't put myself through it again with ds2. Just couldnt face the months of pain and faff.

Completely different experience 2nd time around though. Ds2 just seemed to know what to do in a way that ds1 never did, plus I think ds1 and all the pumping kind of "fixed" my duff flat nipples.

Anyway, it was great. Dead easy and mostly pain free. Good luck!

With dd1 I really struggled after a shitty labour. I tried pumping but the milk was pink from the blisters. So she went on formula from about a week old.

Dd2 was easier, still started off painful but not as bad. Fed til I got pregnant with dd3 at 8m.

Dd3 nipples like old leather, no pain. Baby was a dream to feed.
