I am desperate for some answers. I am 8+1 today. At 7+3 the scan showed perfect heartbeat but also a hematoma. I had a mild bleeding/ cramping/back pain for half a day and was seen by a consultant who unfortunately said that cervix is slightly dilated and the risk of miscarriage is higher, hence threatening miscarriage. I am in complete disbelief, this is my 5th pregnancy ( I only have one 5 y old daughter) and I am feeling so anxious as I don't know what will happen. I know that no one can guarantee it will be healthy pregnancy butI wonder if cervix can close again at all, or this is it now and even if I don't miscarry now I am likely to have my baby premature? I feel particulary depressed today about the whole thing. I have another scan in a week time... by then I will make myself go crazy😔 if anyone can share any experience good or bad... I'd love to hear. Just to add this is IVF pregnancy and the bleeding has stopped but I do have brown discharge when I wipe.

I'm really sorry. I don't know the answer but hopefully someone will be along soon who knows more Thanks

Did they say anything about a cervical suture ? Or starting you on progesterone ? No experience of really early cervix dilation but I had my first son at 28 weeks due to incompetent cervix so with this pregnancy had a stitch placed at 13 weeks to keep cervix from dilating, now 34 weeks.
Hopefully they can give you answers next week x

@boymum88 nothing was said on cervical suture or perhaps if it was I didn't catch it. I am taking prograterone 3 times a day as this is IVF pregnancy. I guess this is all that can be done at this stage...
Thanks for sharing your experience and hope all goes well for you!Flowers
