Hello,

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow and weigh the same as when I got my bfp.
My BMI was/is 31 so is it just normal that I haven't gained anything yet?
Baby was normal size at 20 week scan.
At 25 week appt the GP was surprised that I hadn't gained anything and told me I should be eating 30% more than pre-pregnancy which doesn't fit with any NHS guidance.

I put on stupid amounts with my first.
With my second I didn’t put on anything till about 24 weeks, I think my bmi was around 27.
You don’t need to eat anything extra till 3rd tri and even then it’s only a small extra snack really.

I gained 11lbs with DC3. She weighed 8lbs. I weighed myself a few hours after the birth and I was 8.5 stone. I'm quite tall. I wouldn't worry about not gaining weight.

So long as you are eating plenty of nutritious foods I wouldn't worry. When you start out overweight it's recommended that you don't gain much if anything. If you do want to increase calories for the 3rd trimester something as simple as a large chicken breast (or other foods of equal nutritional values) a day would be enough.

I'm 39 weeks and aside from bump and now some water retention in my calves, I don't think I've gained weight. All of my clothes still fit me in exactly the same way - aside from the bump. My midwife isn't bothered. My diet is healthy and she said that's all that matters!

I’m 30 weeks and I haven’t put on anything. I’ve also not heard that you should be eating so much before, I ate like crazy in my first pregnancy and put on tons of weight, but this time round I just have an extra snack of cheese and crackers or some celery and hummus.
As long as you’re healthy and not feeling hunger pangs then I’m sure it’s fine. Just listen to your body

Thanks everyone ☺️ I'll just keep eating a balanced diet then!
