22 weeks and sudden sharp pain

Hi all - I'm 22 weeks and 2 days.
This morning around 6am I felt a sudden sharp pain on the left side of my stomach. It was painful running from lower central stomach area going round in a C shape.
The main lasted around 20min and quiet tender, I took two paracetamol and wrapped a hot water bottle in a towel pressed on my back area as I was experiencing the odd/regular back pain.
My midwife a month ago did say in my 2nd trimester I'll feel sudden pain along those area but I didn't realise it would be this bad.
In terms of baby movements, prior to this I would feel fluttering at random times throughout the day, I think I felt a flutter this morning but not 100% sure due to the pain, however since the morning I've yet to feel anything Confused.

Is this common and should I be worried, I plan to call my midwife first thing tomorrow.

Thanks.

I don't know if this is common but I had this with my son quite regularly around the 20week mark onwards. It was at its worst if I tried to roll over in bed, I did contact my midwife who assured me it was just the ligaments as everything was growing and stretching. I would still advise you to call the midwife like you said to be on the safe side but I thought I would let you know that I've been through the same thing. Xxx

I remember getting a pain in my vagina like someone was sticking a dagger up it.
I asked my MW and she said that yes, it’s normal, and it’s everything stretching.
Why the hell doesn’t anyone tell you about these things ?!!!

My colleague and I used to call this sensation "fanny daggers" 🤣 Caught me off guard completely and as you say, no one tells you about this!!

Thanks all, went to EPU and the baby is healthy with a happy hear beat.
They did blood pressure and sugar test and all normal.
They said the pain is due to the ligaments stretching, nothing to worried about.

My MW did warn me, however she didnt say the pain would be this bad.

I have this round ligament pain too. When MW describe it as stretching pain it kind of minimises it leading to panic when it happens. I think they should say that could include stabbing sensations that make you wince out loud and need paracetamol etc so that we don't get frightened by something normal!
