Pre-eclampsia
Has anyone been diagnosed and can share their symptoms etc?
I’ve been feeling off for a couple of weeks, 3 weeks ago I was in hospital due to a severe headache, I keep getting bouts of an overwhelming feeling. I went to the GP on Friday to have bloods taken and there was protein in my urine but BP was fine
Back tomorrow to see the midwife for results. I just feel generally unwell 😔 xxx

Honestly? None. Or at least none that I attribute to the pre-eclampsia. I was swollen, but there was an ongoing heat wave at the same time, which caused it. I'd also had two cases of eye 'floaters', but both instances came after I'd stood up too quickly.

Other than that, I just had the proteinuria, the high BP and the blood tests.

Really sorry that you're feeling so unwell. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it, and get you sorted out quickly. How many weeks are you?

I looked puffy faced, felt ok other than that, but i was in my last week of pregnancy so huge and not sleeping. It was hard to tell what was the PE and what just being very pregnant.

Should say my consultant could see looking at my face that I had it.

I've had it both times. At 39 weeks and this time 28 weeks. No symptoms at all before diagnosis. Then it was protein in urine, high blood pressure and blood tests abnormal. Later on had headaches but they weren't the worse headaches in the world for me, more a dull persistent ache at the front of my head that wouldn't go away with paracetamol.

Should've said that I was diagnosed based on the protein, high BP and abnormal bloods.

I had pre-eclampsia. It was picked up at 29 weeks when I went to the doctors with flu like symptoms. I was sent straight to hospital where I was put on bed rest with 15 minute blood pressure monitoring. I didn't feel terribly ill but did have swelling to hands and ankles and quite high urine protein.
Baby delivered at 30 weeks, 2lb 5oz
We both recovered fully and shes now 26!

I just had severe sudden swelling, and breathlessness, because my lungs were filling with fluid. No eye floaters or nausea, even though they must have asked me 100 times if I had either of them, in utter disbelief that I didn't.
