Hey☺️ just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I never felt like this with my daughter.. I'm 34 weeks now and I haven't been feeling right for well over a week... It started on Thursday the 25th I thought I was having contractions I started timing them as they were exactly how they felt when I had my daughter But a few hours later they eased... So come Monday I had dirioa for four days with lower back pain thankfully that has eased aswell .. I honestly feel like I'm coming on a heavy period tbh I feel so crampy and just generally run done.. I'm absolutely exhausted all I want too do is sleep!! My bump also looks smaller if that makes sense the last few days... I still feel alot off movements so I know he's OK but I just can't remember feeling like this with my daughter... I know every pregnancy is different is anyone else in this position? Xx

I'd seriously consider calling triage/mw/gp as it sounds like you'd need a check up.

FolkyFoxFace · 07/03/2021 16:11

I'd definitely call the midwife/triage. May be nothing but worth asking. I went in for lower stomach pain and what I thought was reduced movement at 34 weeks, and they were really lovely. Don't just leave it!

DinosaurDiana · 07/03/2021 16:11

Definitely need to call. You need a BP check if nothing else.

ClaudiaRoseAitken · 07/03/2021 16:38

@FolkyFoxFace @DinosaurDiana @UnCoffreDor even though I'm still feeling movements do you think i should call? I thought was just late pregnancy feels but I am starting too worry

Yes. If it doesn’t feel right you should call. Now.

DinosaurDiana · 07/03/2021 16:40

Are your ankles swollen, fingers ?

Yes, definitely. Just because the baby is moving doesn't mean something else isn't going on. All may well be absolutely fine, but it's worth checking just to be on the safe side. You mentioned contractions, so I'd just get that checked on the off chance that it's a sign of early labour or the baby being in distress. Like you said, all pregnancies are different and the baby could just be growing and stretching out your ligaments (I was told I had SPD), but it's just not worth the risk of not being sure!

Doyoumind · 07/03/2021 16:42

Definitely call. You don't just need checking out for reduced movements. Any concerns could be legitimate concerns. Let a professional decide.

ClaudiaRoseAitken · 07/03/2021 16:53

@Doyoumind @FolkyFoxFace ThankYou I'm going too call just now! I did mention too my midwive already about the contractions and she didn't seem too worried said it could just been my body preparing for labour or a number off things but aslong as theyv eased! But I just feel like I'm constantly about too come on a period better too be checked over i guess :) xxx

Good luck 🤞🏻

FolkyFoxFace · 07/03/2021 17:08

Good luck! Hope it goes well - you're doing the right thing!

Kittykat93 · 07/03/2021 20:46

You really need to be seen..glad you're ringing.

Sceptre86 · 07/03/2021 22:35

Glad you are contacting them. My bump got smaller at 34 weeks and it was due to reduced fluid around baby. I was given extra monitoring and with my dd had to be induced. Hopefully your experience will be nothing like mine but it is always best to be checked. Hope it all goes well for you.

ClaudiaRoseAitken · 08/03/2021 10:36

@Sceptre86 I'm seeing my midwive this afternoon... Did you have any symptoms with reduced fluid as I don't feel like my water has been breaking... I have been having alot off discharge but that's just late pregnancy I guess..

I hope it goes well with your midwife. I had something very similar at about 33 weeks - regular painful contractions, diarrhoea, generally feeling like crap. I also had a smallish amount of watery discharge (enough to run down to my knee). I went to the day unit at the hospital and everything was fine. BUT they did keep me in overnight and I had a few tests because a lot of these things together could've indicated premature labour and I looked like I was in labour on the monitor. They talked me through how I might need steroids to speed up baby's development and things like that and were definitely taking these symptoms seriously. As I said I was fine and after a day or so the contractions got less painful and then stopped about a week later. One morning at 35 wks my bump reappeared as well and baby isn't engaged anymore. No idea what was going on and as I say it was a false alarm for me but definitely worth getting checked out as I didn't get the impression from the midwife or consultant that "this happens all the time".

DinosaurDiana · 08/03/2021 11:53

Your first post did make we wonder if you were going into early labour.
Cross those legs and keep him warm for a bit longer !

TalulaBella · 11/03/2021 09:46

I was told to go to A&E with my first born at 33 weeks because I had back pain and bump had dropped, I was 3cm dilated and they put me on a drip and was on bed rest for 2 cycles (6 days) to stop the prem labour.
It did stop it and I then had to be induced at 41+3!

Good luck OP!
