Hi ladies,
I have been prescribed heparin, aspirin and progesterone for my current pregnancy due to recurrent miscarriage. Although my hcg levels were high to start they are since very slow to rise has anyone else experienced this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy

I can’t answer the question on hcg levels sorry but I just wanted you to know your not alone! I’ve had 4 recurrent miscarriages last year and am currently pregnant again. (4 weeks so very early) have you been able to have a scan at your EPU? X

I had a scan at EPU last week saw a gestation sac measuring 7-8mm but at the moment nothing in it. Have been told to come back in a weeks time. Apart from the slow rising HCG levels the same thing happened with my daughter I was scanned early and was just over a week earlier than I thought I was so grasping at straws but still praying for a miracle. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy to date along with 5 failed IVF cycles my daughter is our rainbow baby but have been desperate for rainbow baby two since she was born

Hi as far as I aware the HCG levels will be unrelated to the heparin and aspirin. They are often prescribed as blood thinners to help reduce chance of miscarriage but I don’t think they directly affect your levels.

My HCG levels were very slow to rise in my second pregnancy but that did unfortunately end in MC. I hadn’t started on heparin then yet though. I took it in both my successful pregnancies but didn’t have my HCG levels checked in those sorry!

Thanks, I’ve pretty much set myself for bad news but until they tell me otherwise I can’t give up hope yet. This is the first time I’ve used heparin I just thought this would prevent another miscarriage but doesn’t look that way at the moment 😞
