Swimming once the pools reopen/covid

Hello all

My local gym/pool is planning to reopen on 12 April and I am desperate to go for a swim. Only issue is I will be 28 weeks pregnant when it reopens and am wondering if this is such a good idea because of covid.

There is an outdoor pool about a 20 min drive from me which I go to but my local pool is a 10 min walk and so convenient. It’s also quite a big pool but the changing facilities aren’t always that clean (this may have changed post covid).

I’m seeing my midwife at the start of April so will ask what the latest advice is but just wondered if anyone was planning to go swimming once the pools reopen?

I used to do it twice a week in my first pregnancy and it was blissful feeling weightless!

I wouldn't be worried about going swimming again.
We went last time we were allowed and it was fine. I think if you are uncomfortable with people being close it will be best to choose very quiet times to go and/or adults only times.

If you would go to the shop or see any friends or family socially then there is no bigger risk from going alone to a swimming pool.

Thank you. I think I’m going to go for it and go really early in the morning so it is quiet. Hopefully the government won’t change their minds about reopening things between now and April!

There will still be limited numbers, they clean down the changing rooms as soon as someone's used a cubicle. You're probably safer there than in a shop tbh

Glad this thread started as I was wondering the same, I'll be 27 weeks when indoor pools open.

I think I'll go when it's quiet (force myself to be a morning person perhaps 😂) and if I'm not comfortable with the maintenance of the shower/changing area I'll just come home and shower.
