To have quad test or not

Hi,

On my 12 week scan they couldn’t get the NT measurement as baby wouldn’t get into the right position. They offered me a quad test from 14 + 3, but initially decided against it as I don’t think I would want to have further diagnostic tests done and if it was positive for Down’s syndrome I think I would continue the pregnancy.
I’m 17 weeks now and the midwife offered the quad screening again and now I’m not sure if I should just do it and hope it’s low risk for peace of mind.

I have an appointment for Monday morning at 8.30 for the blood test but part of me just thinks I should ring and cancel as she is coming in 30 mins early to do the test as a favour for me as I work at the hospital and will just be finishing a night shift. Has anyone decided against screening? Or can offer any advise?
The other thing that’s puts me off is the quad test only screens for Down’s syndrome and not the many other possible genetic problems, and it’s not the most accurate test so part of me just thinks what’s the point. But the other half think just get it done, it’s just a routine screening test x

Not sure what all the different tests are but I decided against them. This was based on what the midwife said to me which was, if you wont do anything with the results then theres not much point having them. Also they're not 100% so I didnt wanna spend the pregnancy preparing myself for potentially, something that wouldnt even happen.

Whatever you choose to do will be right 🙂
