32 weeks pregnant scan

Hi, I just had my scan and was told that the baby's weight has slightly dropped just a tiny bit below 50th percentile.

I also suffer from high blood pressure (preeclampsia) and have PE; currently on tinzaparin and labetalol. Also been told to take 75mg of aspirin and iron tablets.

Despite all this I do generally feel well when I'm not constantly going up and down the stairs.

The baby's weight currently at 32weeks and 3 days is 1775g (1.78kg) 3lb 15oz

Is this a good baby weight? The sonographer has given me another scan in 2 weeks to see if the baby's weight drops again as it could be that the placenta isn't giving much nutrients given that I have preeclampsia.

What could I eat or drink? Or is this something that's beyond my control?

Any feedback would be great, I feel so worried 😟 sonographer and the nurse and the MDU said it's not a cause for concern right now as this the first time baby's weight has dropped so have nothing to compare it to

Weight estimates via scan are not very accurate. Unless baby continues to drop on the centiles indicating that growth has slowed or stopped I wouldn't worry too much. Just sound like you're going to have a small to average size newborn atm. You could try upping protein and calcium intake, always good for growth. Good luck at your next scan.

Mine have been the opposite, well above average growth on scans. Our twins were estimated at 5lb each at 32wk, born at 38wk 8lb5oz & 8lb11oz (average twin is around 6lb). Don't remember estimates for the singletons but 1 was average and 2 were well above average birth weights.

Don't worry too much, growth scans are not really reliable. My dd was measuring on the 10th centile, even dropped below it. Was bang on the 50th centile when she was born. My ds measured on the 50th centile, was on the 98th centile when he was born.

My niece was born at 33+1 and weighed 3lb 15oz and doc said she was a good weight. She was small, obviously but not too tiny
