Morning Sickness in 3rd Trimester?

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and for the last 5 days I've felt awful - exactly like I did in the early weeks when I was suffering from morning sickness. I stomach is completely screwed up - I seem to alternate between feeling sick to the stomach and then really hungry, but as soon as I begin to eat I feel sick again and then have terrible stomach ache afterwards. I've been sick several times (although it's quite random, just like morning sickness!) I went to see my doctor this morning who suggested very little in terms of what could be the cause. I hadn't considered it might be morning sickness until someone said to me earlier that they suffered from it around week 32. I noticed a few references when I did a google search to some 'unlucky' women suffering from morning sickness in the final trimester - just wondered if anyone else has heard of it coming back or experienced anything similar?

Tina, I did with DS. Felt very nauseous in the first four months, then fine until about 7 months. Was sick properly then for about 4 to 6 weeks; even negotiated flexible start time, as it was affecting me so badly. It all eased off then.

With DD I was just nauseous for the first six months and then a brief spell of nausea around Christmas time usually in the mornings only rather than all day (she was born end of Feb), so yes you are not alone!

Bienchen, thanks for your reply. It's comforting to just have a reason for it, rather than worrying what on earth is wrong with me! I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed it doesn't continue for the rest of my pregnancy as it's going to be a pretty miserable 8 weeks or so if it does. Tina

Could it be heartburn? I had hyperemesis on and off from week 5 up until about week 38 but I am sure that the last month or so was actually heartburn, and that it stopped because the baby dropped and allowed more room in my tummy. Because I'd never had it before I just recognised the sick feeling rather than the fact that it was centred right in the middle of my chest and was worse when I had eaten a whole meal rather than just a nibble (cos that's all my tummy could really stand, normal sized portions would just come shooting back up again within minutes. Revolting) I've only thought about all this after the event of course.

Have you tried v small portions regularly, sleeping propped up by cushions/avoiding lying down, steering clear of anything other than bland-ish foods? It might help a bit

Good luck, I hope something works for you.
