Can’t find a concrete answer online, can you use retinol during pregnancy?

NHS advice is that topical retinoids (so prescription-only) should be avoided as a precaution. OTC retinols are weaker again, of course. I didn’t use them, personally.

I've been told no too.

Retinol is a vitamin A, which should be avoided during pregnancy (hence why you need to avoid liver, etc).

Whilst there is no evidence that applying it on your skin is risky, it's best to be cautious and no use it on your skin either.

I was using a prescription strength retinoid before I became pregnant, and went through months of my skin adjusting before it finally settled just weeks before I got pregnant. Was really annoying to have to stop!
