Mw told me to ring the hospital right away if my waters broke and colour was yellow/green, as this suggests meconium presence. My question is, what if baby passes meconium, but my waters don't break, how will I know?!! Google hasn't been my friend on this one..

You will not know until your waters break.
I had slow labor of 6 days with our 2nd, he had meconium in his waters but they had no idea how long it had been present. They monitor baby closely for 24 hours after birth when they have meconium in waters.

How could you ever know if your waters haven't broken Hmm

You won’t know. When my waters went they were pink which was normal. Within 5 minutes there was meconium present. It meant extra monitoring during labour (I was immediately classed as high risk) and the neonatal team being present at the birth as there was a risk baby would be breathing (I don’t know if this is every case, but I had an EMCS in the end)

Thanks for the replies! I was reading about MAS and suddenly starting over analysing and managed to get myself worked up! So then I suppose, meconium can become an issue when waters break, or shortly afterwards.
