Hi...
I’m currently 21+2 weeks pregnant and working full time. I work in a nursery which means social distancing is mearly impossible! The government guidance states that working 28 weeks pregnant you should be strict with social distancing and work from home if social distancing is not possible. Working from home is not an option.. my work have told me that the government haven’t reviewed the guidance on pregnancy however it states on the website it was updated 26th Feb. I just need advice on what to do!

Have your work done a risk assessment?

Beckychester19 · 01/03/2021 20:28

Yes. However they are saying the things they have in place are protecting me however I’m still expected to work with 12 children everyday

I was medically suspended from 28 weeks because I cannot work from home. Means I’m on full pay until 36 weeks. Then I’m using 4 weeks annual leave before starting maternity.

It’s the law that if it’s not safe to work, then you have to be medically suspended on full pay

What do they have in place op?

Beckyboo1905 · 01/03/2021 21:03

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE

What do they have in place op?
They have basic temperature monitoring that I’m not allowed to, isolating systematic children, social distancing of adults. Basically the same as I am doing now. However I’m very concerned that children can be asymptotic and could potentially pass it on to me as I can’t social distance from them.

Get a sick note from GP or consultant if they don't support you and talk to union
