Hi,
Me and my partner and trying for a baby we decided two months ago that its something we both really want.
I have an 11 year old that I got pregnant with straight away
I'm now 31 and I'm pretty sure this time round it wont be so easy
I'm just wondering how long it took others to conceive once trying.
😃😊

Did it once without protection, that was all it took.

SnooperTrooper12345 · 01/03/2021 16:55

A year for this one.
6 months for the other 2

happymummy12345 · 01/03/2021 16:57

I stopped taking the pill in the July and conceived in the November

8 months but had a missed miscarriage, then another 8 months. From first ttc to giving birth to my dd it was 27 months.

When ttc we get bfp within a month or 2, not all pregnancies have been planned though.

7nfortunately not all stick, had lots of chemicals and mc's, but also got 5 children from 4 term pregnancies and 15+6wk atm.
Current one followed a mc at 9wk in July, hubby didn't want to try for a few months, had a chemical in Nov then bfp in Dec.

There will be a big range, think of it like the lottery!

Personally - no.1 happened in cycle 1. Pregnancy with no.2, took 6 cycles.

For someone your age there is a maximum chance of 30% per cycle with perfect timing (sex at least once in the 3 days before ovulation). You could get lucky and get pregnant immediately or it could take you up to a year, and that would be normal.

Best of luck and I hope you have success soon!

14 cycles with first currently 21 weeks 😁

Clairejessie · 01/03/2021 20:44

This keeps me positive that it doesnt need to happen right away
Im so sorry for the losses you had.

Thank you that's really made me feel alot better
I did see online there is a 30 percent chance each month
I dread my period turning up but I will continue to check my ovulation and keep on track of my cycle

2 years for us, currently 9 weeks :)

Rosieposy89 · 01/03/2021 21:09

I'm 31. It took 2 years, currently 11+3

Behopefulbekind · 20/04/2021 20:47

hi, how are you getting on? I am in the two week wait and currently 8dpo 🤞 xx

hewegoagain · 21/04/2021 11:22

Also curious to see how your getting on.

I'm in a similar situation, DS is 9 this year and we've just decided to start trying again, we're only on our first cycle. But i'm 35, so even more worried about how long it'll take to conceive.

Good luck to you and hope you're doing well.

Behopefulbekind · 21/04/2021 12:23

@hewegoagain do you no what day of your cycle you are on and when you will test? I also have an 8 year old and a 5 year old that are desperate for a sibling 🤞 it will be our month xx

hewegoagain · 21/04/2021 12:45

@Behopefulbekind currently on day 12, we've only started ttc this cycle so trying not to stress too much.

Honestly at the moment I don't think i'll test until my period is actually late, again because i'm trying not to stress about it too much and I think it's easy to get into a cycle of testing too early, being disappointed, getting anxious etc. Although I say that now.... come day 20 of my cycle I might be feeling different lol

Goid luck to you to for this month x

Behopefulbekind · 21/04/2021 12:54

@hewegoagain Ah I wish i was as patient minded as you.. I've been a bloody nightmare and can't help myself! I will test again in the morning xx

hewegoagain · 21/04/2021 13:30

@Behopefulbekind my ilusions of patience may all go down the toilet in a weeks time lol but like I said we've only been trying this cycle so no need to panic yet, although I am spending a lot of time here reading anything and everything Grin. Good luck tomorrow, wishing you all the best x
