Failed abortion or incomplete abortion

Hi,
I had an early medical abortion 3 weeks ago.
It wasnt an easy decision by any means. Ive just came to terms with accepting what I've done. Only to take the test given after abortion to take 3 weeks later and it has came back positive.
I have no pain, no fever, I feel ok other than metallic taste in my mouth.
I've an appointment coming up for a scan.
Just wondering has anyone been in this position and basically if you have, have you continued pregnancy, or has it just been product left in the womb.
I feel like this is all emotions coming back again.

Hi, I didn't want to read and run but I would maybe prepare yourself for a pregnancy. I do know 2 people who have had abortions only to find they are still pregnant. Hopefully not your case, in these 2 people I knew both had been unknowingly pregnant with twins and had lost one due to the abortion and the other stuck. Both went on to keep the remaining pregnancy (although one didnt actually know she was still pregnant until very, very late on in the pregnancy). I hope you get the result you are wanting

At this point I think im hoping pregnancy is there and its a "second chance" if that sounds silly. If I knew the guilt and upset I'd feel after the abortion I'd never have done it. I just think its shocking how they make you wait so long to wait on an appointment. As if it isn't emotionally traumatic enough. I just hope im strong enough for what ever outcome x

There was a thread on here not long ago and her termination failed meaning she had to repeat it - but surgical as she was further along. It was really traumatic for her.

It could also be residual hormones or retained tissue. Just be prepared for any outcome.

@Ce123 I had a missed miscarriage and I'm pretty sure they use the same medication to get things moving, anyway it was 3 months before I finally got the negative test due to it not working the first time and a small amount of retaining product after a second dose. Whens your scan? X

Hi thanks for replies turns out it was a failed abortion and risks were too high for a continuous pregnancy. So to go through it twice was just heart breaking. Thank yous for your replies x

CE123- I've been there, its incredibly traumatic. Be kind to yourself- its such a harrowing thing to go through. Hope you have someone close by that is looking after you x

This is my second abortion after 5months. I am 4 weeks gone now I have tried medical abortion with cytotec and injection, I only had little bleeding which stopped and nothing else what should I do?
