Hey team. I’m almost 9 weeks and my all day sickness is debilitating. I have barely left the house since 6 weeks and I am starting to get depressed.

I’ve tried a bunch of different meds (b6, cyclazine, metachlopromide, and odansetron) with odansetron being the best... but its like my body got used to it or something and it’s not working as well...

Has anyone tried alternating between drugs eg odansetron and then cyclazine or something to help? I’m at wits end. Any help appreciated

Thanks!

Are you taking the full dose? It's up to 32mg a day.

I found I had to take medication in combination so up until 11 weeks I took cyclizine, metoclopromide, ondansetron and then added in steroids. Steroids are the only thing that's stopped my sickness both times. All the medications work in different ways which is why you should I take a combination.

It's worth taking omeprazole also as heartburn/reflux can really increase sickness.

Have a look at the pregnancy sickness support website. They have lots of info and also can arrange a peer supporter for you if that's something you would like. I know I found my pregnancies very lonely and isolating.

Hope you find something to help Thanks

Also I found the orodispersable ondansetron worked better than the tablet.

I rotated every 4 hours

Starting with cyclisine then ondesetron incl waking through the night to take

Have you got 8mg of ondesetron

Does it work better if you have them IV

You must feel awful you have my sympathy xxxx

Thank you for the tips @Dancingdolphins and @cultkid. Currently only on 4mg twice daily so sounds like I need to up the dose. Maybe I should add In a cyclazine too

God it’s awful. Good to hear from people who have survived because it feels like I won’t!

Yes take both on rotation every 4 hours so you have more coverage

And go to hospital for a drip if you're not able to keep anything down xx

It does feel like that way doesn't it! You will get through it but you need to push for a combination of meds that work and as pp said go to hospital if you have signs of dehydration as they can give you fluids and Iv meds which always worked better for me.

And totally agree with the 4 hourly rotation. At my worst I spaced them evenly over 24 hours as if I didn't take any overnight I couldn't manage at all.
