Sudden exhaustion - 19 weeks

Hello! So this pregnancy has been pretty textbook so far - tiredness and nausea first trimester, easing off in the second and for the last 5/6 weeks I've been full of beans and loving life (apart from tooth problems and thrush but never mind lol)

Today I hit 19 weeks and I've woken up feeling like I've been hit by a ton of bricks. Like really extreme exhaustion and brain fog - I forced myself to get dressed and go shopping and I felt a bit sort of spacey and out of it in the supermarket? I slept from 9-9 last night - same as DS and if he had slept longer I could have. I feel like I could sleep and never stop sleeping.

Is this normal?! Do I need to speak to someone? All my bloods and everything were normal when I had them taken at 11 weeks.

18-20 weeks are biggies for growth I think so it's common to be knackered. It might be worth getting your iron checked though as that can make you feel like you can't move you are so tired. I found within 1-2 weeks of being prescribed supplements I felt like a different person! Xxxx

Sorry meant to say my bloods were normal at 12 weeks and iron had dropped significantly by 28 weeks so you could push for a test perhaps 😊

Definitely get your iron checked.

Get your iron checked. I had this in my second pregnancy and I ignored it then eventually got a blood test and was found to be really anaemic. Someone described it to me as bine crunching tiredness and that's exactly how it felt!

Thank you everyone! I'll give the midwife a ring this week x
