Hey ladies,

I know this same thread comes up every few days and I should just read those but kinda panicking a bit now.

I’ve got everything I need for baby being at home but stuff for hospital for both baby and myself I’m struggling.

Worried I won’t pack something or take the wrong things.

What would you say are the most important things I need to remember?

I’m 31 weeks now so not long to go and I guess the rules will still be strict come end of April/May. What kind of snacks should I take to keep me going?

Any help at all would be appreciated ☺️

Definitely don’t forget your phone charger (speaking from experience there! The very nice midwives on the ward lent me one of theirs 😂)

@Thegirlhasnoname 😂 that was something I seen on another thread and the person said take an extra long one in case you aren’t near a socket!

The socket bit isn’t that important nowadays I think as (at least in my hospital) you are able to plug USBs into the tv’s that you can pull over your bed.

Other things I found important:
Big knickers, pads for you, nappies for baby, dry shampoo, nightie for you rather than PJs with trousers, lip balm and, if you can find out at this time of year, a hand held fan because the wards are crazy warm.

Oh and face masks! They will (or did a month ago) have extra handy if you need them though

Things I found useful this time around
Lip balm
Water bottle (handy to fill up and have with you than relying on jug and plastic cups)
Flip flops for bathrooms
More baby clothes than you think
Cotton wool or water wipes
Download stuff onto your phone/iPad in advance - never know what the WiFi will be like

Lucozade or a drink similar to keep energy levels up.
And plenty of snacks. Biscuits ect

Labour happened fast for me so I only ended up using about 3 things from my meticulously packed bag 😂 My organised snack bag didn’t get touched until after baby was born but I had a hell of a picnic with it!
I’d say take some flip flops for the bathroom and a nice big fluffy towel as hospital towels aren’t great. Those two items along with barking at someone to find me a hair tie mid-contraction were all I got round to using!

Dark coloured pj bottoms (in case of leaks!)

For snacks i packed cereal bars, fruit puree pouch thingy (baby food for me), noodle pots, , porridge pots, biscuits, and will prob get some apples nearer the date...
I did buy a fitness drink for energy but it really tastes rank when not ice cold so i don't think I'll bother taking it.

I also packed ear plugs, headphones, some Fybogel (for after birth) and those mesh panties.

Thank you all for your comments - it’s really helped as some things I wouldn’t even have thought of. No doubt I’ll forget something at the time lol
