Leg Cramp Advice

Hi all

I’m 28 weeks and had leg cramps on and off during the night for the past few weeks. Thursday night I had about 4 lots of leg cramps in both legs and woke up with calf cramp on my right leg. It wouldn’t budge so I called the GP Friday who wanted to examine me to rule out DVT. He was happy that it’s muscular. I’ve since woke up today with both calves aching. I was wondering could any one offer advice on relief? I’ve tried stretching and had a warm bath last night. I’ve read Epsom salts and increasing calcium intake could help?

Thanks!

Sodium helps so you could add salt to your food if you don’t already. Bananas are also good. And if you can get someone to massage your calves that would really help.

Magnesium spray can help. Put it on and rub it in thoroughly before you go to bed.

Don’t add extra salt, as dehydration can cause cramp and increased salt can raise your BP.

Bannanas and lots of fluids.

I had this and I drank ice cold water and walked around until it became bearable.
