Hi all

Im due to be induced next wednesday after failed sweep this week i am 41 weeks today
I didnt realize that an induction can fail! Reading online, people have had to have several ones and stay in hosp a week etc cant imagine how stressfull that must be! Being the negative nelly that I am I am looking at my options before this all takes place this is my first pregnancy.. if mine fails at that point am i able to say to them ok I will opt for c section which I have read some people habe done or do i need to have several inductions done in order to be granted a c section? I know I will be in hands of experts who will guide me on best choices but I am sometimes to scared to say what i want and tend to go with what I am told but really want to avoid so much intervention numerous times seeing how much pain it causes mentally and physically, any advice would be really great thank you x

If you're in the UK, you can request a csection with any reason at all.
However, if you have several failed inductions, they will probably offer you a csection anyway around 42 weeks

I had failed induction and EMCS but was 38 weeks and he was nowhere near ready! I think the later on you are the more likely it would be to be successful.

I had 3 lots of pessaries, then started on the drip and they broke my waters, after about 36 hours of induced labour I was exhausted and they suggested EMCS because my waters had been gone for so long and not getting past 8cm.

It’s one drip so they wouldn’t take you off/on I wouldn’t think? X

Ah OP, I'm 41 weeks today and booked in for induction on Thursday. I had one with my first and it was fine! Not my preference but we were both healthy and he was here! It will be okay, even if the induction fails and you have a caesarean.
