Pregnant on copper IUD?

Hi guys, i am currently 10DPO, I have just had a "feeling" about being pregnant. I had intercouese over the period of ovulation BUT I am on the copper IUD and have been for nearly 4 years. I took a few cheap tests and they came with a Very faint line. I then purchased a couple of Clear Blue tests but they both came back as negative. Is it still possible to be pregnant? Has this happened to anyone else please? Thank you!

I have a friend who became pregnant while on IUD but it is very rare - it's one of the most effective forms of contraception as far as I know. A faint line does mean pregnant but it is possible to get an evap line confused with a positive and some of the cheaper ones are pretty bad for that - some of them you can see a faint test line before you've even used the test if you look carefully! If your clear blue was negative it's more likely that you aren't pregnant. Test in a few days - if negative very unlikely that you are pregnant and if you are the test result would be stronger and more obvious.

It is possible, more so with copper than mirena one.

I had copper coil fitted Sep13. Aug14 I was going to donate blood, I always take tests to be sure not pregnant 1st. Got BFP, saw GP who couldn't see coil on internal exam. Sent for scan the next day, they did external then internal scans. Said "congratulations, you're having twins!!" No sign of the coil, our girls are almost 6 now.

Yes, its possible, mine is now 14 years old!! My coil baby!!

Thank you for answering ladies. I'm not due on for another 5 days, so wondered whether the cheapies were more sensitive than clear blue. I had 3 different cheapie tests with faint lines. I wish I could post a photo but I can't as I'm a newbie! X

Hi i was reading this just wondered the outcome,
I have copper coil been feeling ill thought had appendicitis but then did a hpt and had a very faint positive result, done 4 in total 1 a day all the same tests and the first 3 were pos and getting darker and todays looked neg but im convinced im preg how ever i wouldnt be due on for another 7 days
