So from about 16 weeks I started to notice a brown discharge when wiping which got darker and eventually turned red after 4 days. After that it went back from and on day 8 it finally decided get so light you’d barely notice, today on day 10 I have went for a bowel movement and it seems to have gone dark again. I have been for scans and spoke to doctors which noones really gave me an explanation to what it is. Has anyone else experienced this??

Hey, I’m sure someone else will come along who has experienced this at your stage of pregnancy who could help more. I’ve never got that far so I can’t really comment, other than that if you’ve had scans and baby looks fine hopefully it means everything will be ok. I have read of women having unexplained bleeding xx

Hey OP what’s going on with this now? Did the brown stop? Xx

Workinghardeveryday · 27/02/2021 10:35

I did both times, I used to freak out, have a scan and was fine!! They just said to me everything is much more sensitive in pregnancy so if there was the slightest cervical erosion it could easily bleed

Still there, went back to the hospital yesterday just for reassurance and to listen to the heartbeat had a long conversation with the midwife who explained about it being old blood, from the cervix or could just be unexplained which some pregnant people have. She said I can go up at anytime. It is getting lighter again, but that means nothing in my case. Thanks for asking :))

I had a bleed when I was 20 weeks it really scared me but all was fine and didnt happen again!

Mysleepingangel · 27/02/2021 13:29

Hi

I had very similar experience and not to scare you, but it was basically my cervix opening and membrane bulging! This was at 19 weeks so I'd highly recommend you push for a cervical scan or a speculum check by your midwife/doctor.

I don't think we should ignore any bleeding etc in pregnancy, even if its normal and ruled out later, always get it checked.

I hope you've a safe and happy pregnancy with a healthy baby x

Iv had a speculum at the start of it and cervix was shut tight :)

I had this at 17 weeks and I really thought it was all over (history of miscarriages) but she was absolutely fine. I had a speculum exam and there was no ectropian. They think it was old blood being dislodged as baby got bigger. She's 1 in a few weeks. All the best x

LividLoving · 27/02/2021 14:30

I’ve had similar from a cervical ectropion.

Would sometimes be worse after exertion/sex/bm.

Megaaaa · 27/02/2021 14:52

@Polarpuff they haven’t seen any ectropian but then all my symptoms seem to lead to that. Thanks it’s reassuring to know 💗

Had this all the way through my pregnancy- got diagnosed at placenta praevia at 20 week scan. Baby was born super healthy by c section x

Tempusfudgeit · 27/02/2021 20:28

I had placenta previa diagnosed around 28 weeks, the symptom was bleeding.
