Hey

So just spent the last 2 nights in hospital due to bleeding and loosing blood clots I'm nearly 22 weeks. I have placenta previa which is why I'm bleeding.

I work with children and I walk ALOT everyday along with having 2 children of my own so I literally don't stop. The doctors told me I need to slow down as the more I do the more likely I am to bleed and then I'll be back in hospital again.

I'm due to leave work in 6 weeks anyway due to this 28 weeks thing but should I risk working these next 6 weeks or should I take holiday? If I leave now will I still get full pay at 28 weeks?

I'm going to talk to my boss on Monday I just don't know what to suggest to him it's so hard I don't want to loose out on pay but mine and my babies health are more important

I'm not sure how stopping work now would affect your salary, but in all honesty your and baby's health/wellbeing comes first. Would asking the doctor to sign you off until 28 weeks an option?

Could you go off sick OP? I’d discuss with your GP and go from there. I assume your boss knows you’ve been in hospital.

I'd go on sick leave. Even if it means a drop in pay during this time you are better off taking it easy until baby arrives with that condition.

Thank you ladies I think I'll give me doctor a call. I obviously want to put my baby and myself first and I'll have a good chat with my boss too. X
