Hi ladies I had my 28 week midwife appointment today, and my bump is measuring 33cm. She seemed a little shocked and measured it 3 times to be sure! I’ve had a rough pregnancy so I’m just like here we go again....

I’m being sent for a growth scan in the morning, the midwife did say I have no sugar or protein in my urine so she thinks it’s unlikely I have GD and I may just have a big baby or he has had a growth spurt and will even himself out.

I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what the outcome was? Xxx

I wouldn't worry until the scan results ate in.

I measured way ahead on fundal for our 2nd and 3rd. Both had growth scans and were well ahead of average size and had polyhydramnios (high fluid levels). 2nd came out 10lb 12oz @ 40+5, 3rd 9lb 10oz @ 40+2. Our twins were well above average too (17lb combined) but they can't do fundal with them just scans, our eldest was an average 7lb 7oz @ 39+6 and I measured 2wk ahead on fundal. I expect this one to be a large one too, only 15+1wk.

Fundal height is very outdated.
I'm yet to meet someone that has been sent for growth scans and something actually been wrong ect.
I wouldn't worry too much

I measured off the scale so had a growth scan today & baby is on the 50% centile. Even my midwife said the fundal heigh is a waste of time.

I do think fundal height isn’t great but it’s an indicator of potential problems.

I measured behind and was was sent there and then for a growth scan (scanned within 30mins of arriving with a room full of people waiting)

So if they are worried and any risk to you or baby you would have had a scan today.

I bet you have your scan tomorrow and baby is growing fine. If they are measuring big they will do more growth scans and induce you early (37-38weeks). No risk to baby at that stage x

Thanks everyone for your replies, Glad everyone’s babies are doing well! Hopefully everything is fine just wanted some advice on what to expect! Thanks ladies xxx

I was measuring way above. Polyhydramnios fluid, so the boy had plenty to swim about in. They did a scan and couldn't find out why. He was 9.7lb, so pretty big.
