Is there a reason you are scared? I’d think it more usual to be excited to see the baby.

swiftt · 22/02/2021 08:10

Good luck! I’m sure it will be absolutely fine, but totally understand your fear. Flowers

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 22/02/2021 08:10

Fingers crossed everything is okay for you! Thanks

SmidgenofaPigeon · 22/02/2021 08:12

@CherryRoulade not for everyone particularly if experienced MMC or earlier miscarriage. I am only ten weeks and can’t wait to reach the dizzy heights of 12 and go to a scan as I’ve never got that far before, but I’m going to be nervous too. Also in some areas women are still having to go through this alone.

Pregnancy is not an exciting breeze for everyone, sadly.

Good luck OP! Let us know how you go. The chances of all being well far, far outweigh the other scenarios.

Kat1990x · 22/02/2021 08:21

@CherryRoulade general fear incase sonething is wrong. Know a few people that have had scans & not left with what they wanted to hear. 50/50 i guess.

@swiftt Thankyou appreciate your kindness.x

@ThatsNotTheTeaHunty Thankyou!Flowers

@SmidgenofaPigeon i agree. I have to go alone & its my first pregnancy. Just going into the unknown is enough for meGrin. Im going to try stay positive & i will most definatly keep you updatedFlowers

Which is why I asked if there is a specific reason to be scared....
Having had scans at 19, 24 and 29 weeks where there was no heartbeat, I know full well it’s not always a breeze.

That doesn’t mean everyone should go in feeling scared. Most women have healthy pregnancies. Most women shouldn’t need to feel stressed or frightened.

CherryRoulade · 22/02/2021 08:26

Just read your update. You don’t need to feel scared at all. It’s unhealthy to be worrying about unlikely events. Most pregnancies are healthy, thank goodness. Relatively few are found to have problems at scanning.
Go and enjoy it with a more positive frame of mind.

Kat1990x · 22/02/2021 08:28

@CherryRoulade i know. I just need to keep a positive mindset. Its hard but i know it should be more happy positive feelings then negative.

Will keep you all updated.

It's normal to worry. The chances are that everything is fine but until you see the baby's heartbeat on the screen of course you're going to be nervous, that's perfectly reasonable and your feelings are valid.

Chelyanne · 22/02/2021 08:34

I was very worried going to mine as this one follows 2 mc's, started to feel a bit excited when I got there until... a lady came out from hers and sat opposite me, I noticed she had tears rolling down in to her mask (like me she was alone). My excitement turned to fear but I think the sonographer could see how I felt and she showed me baby with it's heart beating, arms/legs flapping around before doing any measurements and I instantly felt more relaxed.

Good luck with your scan. Hopefully you'll see an active little one.

Kat1990x · 22/02/2021 08:35

@crystalcherry87 exactly. I just need to hear the heartbeat & i think that will make me feel alot better. Its been a long wait until this moment & now the days here i have the jitters xx

OP posts:
Kat1990x · 22/02/2021 08:38

@Chelyanne yes its situations like that and hearing some people obviously dont come out the way they came in just resignates with me. I know there may be a chance it could be me but i have to stay strong & stay positive.

But thankyou for your kind words. Much appreciatedFlowers

Hope your scan went well @Kat1990x

Dan3i · 22/02/2021 20:33

Hi @Kat1990x I was exactly the same at mine. I had an 8 week scan and my 12 week dating scan last Tuesday. I balled my eyes out with relief at each one and think I'll be the same throughout the pregnancy. Every time I come out of scan I think why did I work myself up? It's so hard not to worry, I'm my own worse enemy, especially when we aren't far enough along to feel movement yet!

Hope everything went ok Thanks

Kat1990x · 22/02/2021 22:52

@swiftt @Dan3i hey girls. Everything was fine. I worried myself for nothing😂😂😂😂, the baby was there kicking legs and what not. Relief off mt shoulders but yes its easier said than done when its your turn for a scan. Plus its a normal fear. Xxx

Dan3i · 22/02/2021 23:04

@Kat1990x ahhh so glad everything was ok! Honestly you're not on your own I have two more private scans booked before our 20 week scan🙈 I'm a nervous nelly and worry things are too good to be true!

Kat1990x · 23/02/2021 06:02

Dopechef · 23/02/2021 06:13

Hi All,
I had my 12 weeks scan ,and was really sore afterwards, went back to the hospital a day after and no issues was found i just had painkillers ,a week later I'm not I much pain but general discomfort. The sonographer had to press a bit as baby was playing around and wouldn't stay still for measurements.
Has anyone had this experience and is it normal to still be feeling discomfort a week later?

swiftt · 23/02/2021 06:55

Fab news! I didn’t sleep before my 12 week scan, felt absolutely sick with nerves and was convinced something would be wrong (after 2 early scans too). If it helps, I was slightly less worried for my 20 week scan and now I’ve totally calmed down at 25 weeks.

Kat1990x · 23/02/2021 08:32

@Dopechef hey. Im abit sore as she was pushing hard and baby kept moving so im assuming its normal as ive got the same. Just see how it goes.
Im not sure about a week later as only had my scan yday xxx

@swiftt goood!! Best thing to do
Is stay calm ive learnt since yday😂😂. The scan pictures keeping me going now. Hows pregnancy at 25weeks? Xx
