Dating scan with an expected twin that didnt make it

Hello! This is all very confusing for me, so I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience of this.
I had my dating scan nearly 3 weeks ago, and it revealed one healthy baby, dated at 13weeks 2 days, and a twin that stopped growing ar 9weeks 2 days. I didnt know I was carrying twins, although had a really rough first trimester where I was very tired and nauseous so I was aware this pregnancy was different to my others (both v straightforward). They were in separate sacs with separate placentas.
I've come to terms with this pretty much, but it's just left me with lots of worries and uncertainties. The midwives have said that it'll probably be absorbed with a bit of blood loss etc, but I've had nothing. No spotting, cramping etc. So from feeling very aware of my body I'm now really unclear with what's going on.
I've got to have my Downs screening again now at 16 weeks, as my blood before was 'twin blood' but how do I know it still isnt?

Thank you. I am finding it tricky to move on, and am now worrying about my other bub. I have a midwife check on Wednesday so hopefully I'll hear a heartbeat and that will help!
