Hi everyone
Came off the pill 5 weeks ago and very blssed to get pregnant straight away...literally!!
Called the doctor last week and was told as I took my pill religiously then I would be max 4 weeks pregnant so 5 weeks now.
Am 5 weeks though, or actually 7 as know the 1st two weeks are not pregnant when using tracking apps etc. Would like to know so I can track development etc
Sorry probably dumb question but 1st timer here

No idea how it works when you come off the pill

You count from the first day of your last period but presumably you wouldn't be able to do that?

Usually you are the number of weeks since ovulation plus about 2 weeks

You will need a rough idea to tell the midwives but your dating scan will give a better idea.

You’d unlikely be 7weeks as that would mean you conceived the first day you didn’t take your pill.

The extra 2 weeks is before ovulation/conception.

Did you have a breakthrough bleed after your last pill? I assume if you finished the pack you might have as body wouldn’t have known you weren’t going to start a new pack.

Hi Walkimgmeaway
No I didn't finish a pack as was on the mini pill so dont have a break for period and randomly just stopped taking them so the doctor said I just struck lucky within cycle.
I took my first test only 3 weeks after coming off the pill and was positive. So with having a positive test (at very early 3 weeks) I and the doctor have presumed I would of gotten pregnant straight away as she said I shouldn't really be able to see a positive test any if I was any earlier.

I just wondered if you always add on those two weeks pre conception as the apps seem to??

Yes you are usually 2 weeks plus + the number of weeks since ovulation if you have a regular cycle of around 28 days

Ahh that makes it a bit trickier then.

What was the date of your positive test? I’d count that day as 4 weeks pregnant for the time being and book a private scan to get a better idea.

So if your test was 2 weeks ago I’d base myself on being 6 weeks as in the middle somewhere of possibilities.

I know, I suppose it doesn't really matter and I'll find out at scan its just curiosity I suppose and wanting to get scan as soon as as I'm excited etc
I didnt take my pill 16/01 and had first positive on 3 weeks and 3 days later on 09/02
Thanks for your help
I assumed with my age (37) and years on the pill I'd have lots of time to research all the ins and outs of this before I might get pregnant

As you got a positive at the 3 weeks 3 days since you came off the pill, whilst it is unlikely you conceived then, I'd just add 2 weeks to that and go by that as I presume you weren't having periods.
And then they'll date you at your 12 week
