Stomach cramps 5 weeks pregnant

When are stomach cramps a problem in early pregnancy? I have had them on and off for the last few days but they've been fairly mild. Tonight they are so bad they've woken me and I am confused about what to do.

I can't tell if its normal and they are stretching pains (I hear these can be quite bad) or its something I need to get advice on.

Hi, I had similar, except it was stabbing pains and over a few nights so that had me worried. I ended up going to the doctor as like you I was woken several times with the pain. They sent me to the early pregnancy unit (was 6 weeks then) for a scan and everything was fine. I think if they're bad enough over a few days maybe ring your doctor but it's probably fine and just stretching pains Smile

I always found the implantation pain to be very severe. Double you over level. It’s how I’ve known I was pregnant in the past.

They're only a worry really if you have other symptoms of ectopic or it's accompanied by bleeding

Mine at 5 weeks had me doubled over in the street and making me nauseous they were so bad so I think it’s relatively normal!

Thanks everyone, I am glad to hear that it sounds relatively normal. I suffered before pregnancy with extreme pain but the cause wasn't found and it seemingly disappeared for a while.

Hi, I'm 5 weeks today and had some sharp pains today and was worried but after speaking to a few other ladies on another thread who are also 5 weeks has made me feel reassured.

Feel free to join us as it's nice to know there's others feeling the same x
