I just found out I'm am pregnant for the 3rd time. I am 27. My husband is 45. We have 2 girls aged 3 and 1 years. We was just wondering what are the chances of having a boy this time or even twins or just simply the same chances as my first 2 pregnancies as 50/50 gender. Although I read somewhere with the father over 40 is more likely to have girls.. I am a fraternal twin so does this increase my chances of having twins too or is it true that it skips a generation. This is a shock as I was on clomid to get pregnant with our 2 girls. So we're just asking so we can get our heads round the potential and prepare before the scans. Thank you

They may say older men are more likely to have girls due yo a decline in testosterone levels. It's luck of the draw really, unless you have sperms analysed you'll not know how the health differs between the X &Y's.

Fraternal twins do run in families, doesn't always skip a generation I think it just depends on the individual. Even if you ovulate twice both eggs are not always fertilised. I have 3 singletons, one set of fraternal twins and pregnant with a singleton. I'm the 1st in my family to have live twins but my parents lost a set and one of my cousins on my dads side had a set 17 month after me.

Good luck
