Vericose veins in an embarrassing place

Please can someone assure me that having vericose veins where you'd normally have a brazilian wax is normal in pregnancy and that it will go away!!!

I knew they were there'ish but decided after much procrastination to have a look yesterday - not pretty. Must warn DH for birth as he hasn't been there for a while - argh.....

I had a labial varicose vein (3rd preganancy) - way back - I was really worried what would happen during delivery but it was no problem and disappeared after. Don't worry

Thank you thank you thank you Jools - oh being pregnant is getting more and more glamorous (bet Posh, Hurley and that lot don't have these probs)

don't forget the piles, stretch marks, chronic heartburn, sciatica....but you do get a lovely prize at the end..in the form of a gorgeous baby

Yes well got the piles as well - feeling very sexy at the moment . Luckily DH has been off sex for a bit as he can't deal with the there's-a-baby-in-there (and it's his fourth!)

(I didn't have all of those btw)

I actually went to the GP as I didn't know this could happen! She was very nice about it - pregnant and emotional - and recommended telling the mw before I went into labour. The mw laughed and said that it was quite normal to have them, and that they would go away. They did!!!

Nimme · 28/10/2004 17:57

Yes well if I hadn't seen the build up I would have freaked yesterday. Very very relieved to hear that they disappear

I am saving my emotional and pregnant for the builders - they should be out in 2-3 weeks (just in time)

I lost an unexpected amount of blood during my second elective c-section Nimme, and when I asked the surgeon why, he said, rather disapprovingly, that I had varicose veins on my UTERUS . Still, I suppose I don't have to worry about anyone else seeing them, or whether they've gone. I felt about 90 when he told me .

Marina.

This pg has definitely been harder on my body than the last. If I had any doubts about it being the last the veins have decided for me (perhaps they are my bodys way of saying "enough")
