Will my EDD change?

Hi all...according to NHS website and my LMP I'm 8 weeks pregnant due date 1st Oct. However, I do know when I ovulated and the days we TTC would put me at 6 weeks.

I know the reason why they go off LMP but I was just wondering has anyone got to their 12 week dating scan knowing this and then been told their 2 weeks behind (so only be around 10 weeks)?

I'm just curious to know as these past couple weeks I've had awful nausea and now the thought of me being two weeks behind makes me think it's going to go on for longer! Aargh!

If your LMP was 8 weeks ago, and you ovulated 2 weeks later, then you are still 8 weeks pregnant.

If your LMP was 8 weeks ago, but you didn't ovulate until 4 weeks after that, then yes, you are 6 weeks pregnant and they will adjust at your dating scan (and probably ask you to come back).

It isn't clear from this post which you are.

When you go for your scan they will give you an EDD based on the measurements they take. If you are measuring behind by a significant margin they will invite you back for another scan I would think. My EDD was brought forward by 6 days based on my scan which is pretty much impossible considering our timings but since babies can arrive anytime from 37-42w I'm not really too bothered by due date anyway.

Yes they'll go by your LMP until the dating scan then confirm your actual EDD. As PP, if you're 2 weeks behind you'll have to go back for a second dating if you want the nuchal testing as it will likely be too early. I have long cycles and this happened in my last pregnancy and am currently about 7+3 but midwife has me down as 11 weeks based on LMP.

They'll go off size of baby so most womens dates change.
I don't track ovulation but my dates were moved forward 4 days from lmp at my dating scan.

My LMP was 20th Dec and I ovulated around 7th Jan.

I'm not too bothered about the due date I'm more thinking because of how nauseous I've been feeling could it go on for longer if I'm not as far on gone.

On the NHS website according to my LMP and my cycle length it is saying 8 weeks so I will go with that until dating scan. I've got my first booking in appointment on Tuesday.

You are technically not pregnant for the first 2 weeks so although you conceived 6 weeks ago, you are 8 weeks pregnant. (Yes it's weird) you will get a different edd at the scan, but it shouldn't be more than 4-5 days away from the date you have now. (I have 8 dc and most were about 3 days different to the original date). So yes you will probably a different date but it will be close to the edd worked out from your period.

It depends on your cycles. I always end up at least a week, if not two weeks back from my EDD from LMP at scans - even when using apps and ovulation sticks! And yes, I know that’s not usual, and I’ve had multiple losses, but also 2 healthy pregnancies so, I’m starting to just expect it.

LMP is an estimated date, the scan is when your EDD will be set. But don’t worry - as others have said, if it turns out to be too early for NT measurements they will bring you back in for another scan.

WalkingMeAway · 20/02/2021 11:25

If you ovulated 7th Jan you are 8 weeks.
You will get your exact due date at your 12w scan.

Hope your sickness doesn’t last too long

I have stupidly long cycles and my LMP put me at over 12 weeks but when I went for my scan I was dated 8 weeks, all they did was invite me for another scan after 5 weeks so that I'd actually be 12 weeks and they just adjusted my dates
