Wondering if anyone has a similar experience... my last period was 24th December... i thought I was 8+1 had an early scan today and they said the baby was measuring a 6+1. He said the heartbeat was really strong and everything looked fine but maybe I ovulated later than I thought. Has anyone else had this? I don’t know if the dates add up as I got my very strong positive pregnancy test 26th January..

@Brightspark12 My last period was 29th sept and i got my BFP on the 27th oct, was 100% sure of my dates but at my dating scan it put me back 6 days which does put me at around ovulation as i tracked with OPKS, but if you went by my period i would be due 6 days earlier instead of later

@Brightspark12 yes everything has been fine im now 20+2 and have my 20 week scan on thursday, i think everybody is going to have something different with dates ect as really who knows when the exact time of ovulation occurs, it took me 14 months to conceive my first, i think everything will turn out great for you and i hope you have a magical pregnancy 💞

Thanks @Brightspark12 xx

It really is @Botanica and now to face the next steps which I hadn’t even thought about but I’ll decide in a few days how to proceed. It’s a lot to take in but I’m sure it will get easier over the next few weeks.

@birdbybird keep positive , you’re only a week out which is totally normal , there are lots of positive outcomes out there too so don’t let the negative ones take over. If you can do the private then I would say do so but more so to put your mind at rest but try to give it at least 1 week. Sending positive vibes to you xx

@Botanica who would I speak to about progesterone supplements? GP or midwife? I’ve not had any blood tests yet.

@Blondiebrownie6 I’m very sorry for your loss. :( Have you decided what you are going to do?

Botanica · 23/02/2021 21:09

@birdbybird brown spotting can sometimes indicate low progesterone. Your GP could order a blood test but many are reluctant. You could instead ask if he would be willing to prescribe a progesterone pessary such as cyclogest. You may not need it but it would at least prevent the risk of low levels impacting on an otherwise healthy pregnancy. Hope it all works out x

This happened to me last year, my first pregnancy. I thought I was 6+5 but threy dated me at 5+4 at a private early scan. There was a heartbeat and they said they weren’t concerned and maybe I just ovulated later, but I felt that my dates couldn’t be that far out as I have regular cycles.

I ended up miscarrying at 9 weeks sadly 😔

However I have heard lots of stories about babies ‘catching up’ by 12 weeks so it may all be fine for you xxx
