IVF Cyclogest Spotting

Has anyone gone through IVF experienced a lot of spotting on cyclogest. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and been spotting for nearly 10 days now- it's not massively heavy, but mainly strikes after I've used the pessary. My HCG levels are high and rising normally. I've had no pain other than normal tugging and cramping. I'm just so worried about this spotting. Any similar experiences?

What dose of cyclogest are you on? I had spotting and the consultant double my dose and that resolved it in both my successful pregnancies.

I'm on 2 x 400 a day. My clinic don't seem too concerned... Confused

Yes I have had this, both in IVF pregnancy resulting in miscarriage and in my successful IVF pregnancy. I hope it resolves for you soon, I know how scary it can be.

Springb0ks · 19/02/2021 17:40

Thank you @NoSausageRoll. I feel like I'm going out of my mind with worry.

Ate you using it vaginally? It can irritate your cervix and cause some spotting, if so.

Slavetominidictator · 19/02/2021 18:14

I was on 2 x 200 and they doubled it, so what you're currently on. With my miscarriages I didn't spot at all and with my successful pregnancies I did, so it doesn't necessarily mean something awful, but I can entirely understand your concern. Are you on other drugs? Clexane/fragmin can increase risk of spotting, and also the cyclogest pessaries themselves can irritate.

@Springb0ks I found those early weeks waiting for the scan the most stressful part of the whole IVF process. I hope you’ve got lots of nice food and something good to watch this weekend.

Try using it anally instead

Springb0ks · 19/02/2021 20:49

@Slavetominidictator I'm also on estradiol.

Have already taken it via the alternative entrance this evening Wink

Thank you all for your responses- it's such a worrying time

@NoSausageRoll this is my second IVF pregnancy. My first was an absolute breeze in comparison. I'll be resting as much as my toddler allows this weekend!

I always found it so much less faff whacking it in via the back door, honestly!

Springb0ks · 19/02/2021 21:24

@Persipan 100%. I'm converted!

Grin That will be no rest at all then!

@Springb0ks

How did things turn out? Same problem here. 5 prev miscarriages. On cyclogest 400mg twice daily and clexane so probably the cause but doesn’t help the worry.

Name change but this thread is mine. It was mixed. It was a twin pregnancy. We lost one baby in the first trimester and I'm
Now two weeks away from giving birth to the second.

I’ve been spotting for 2 days. Moved to rectally and it’s not as strong. I’m on cleaxane and aspirin too
