Heyyy,

I’m a FTM due in June. I’m hoping to buy the next to me crib soon and was hoping I could get some recommendations please?
We have a divan bed that’s quite high so ideally one that would work with that.

Thank you so much in advance

I used the Tutti Bambini Cozee. It was great. Adjustable height and easy to move around. I was very pleased with it and am planning to use again with my third, due in the summer.

One thing to be aware of - I asked lullaby trust specifically and they confirmed that the side of a bedside crib should always be raised when the parent is sleeping. Some cribs let you do that (e.g. next to me magic/dream and snuzpod), others don't once attached the to the bed (original next to me, tutti bambini). This is to stop baby or mum accidentally moving between the bed and the crib while asleep and to stop bed clothes getting into the crib. Also there are new regulations that say the mattress of the crib has to be a different height to the parent's bed (so e.g. snuzpod 4 has a new lip that wasn't on snuzpod 3). Again some models comply with new regs and some don't (and some mums say they find the different heights annoying!)

Obviously the risks are really small and may not affect what you choose to buy. Lullaby trust really are the gold standard and very risk averse but thought it might be relevant to know!

Chicco next2me . One of the best baby purchases we made

We love our snuzpod. Ours is a high divan and it fits. The top section can be used as a bassinet in other rooms which is handy for day time sleeping

We have the Snuzpod and it's great. Only issue is getting sheets and replacement mattresses can add up, but I think that's true of most side cribs.

I loved the Chico and it had the added bonus of doubling up as a travel cot

MumOfBoys16 · 19/02/2021 15:29

I hated the next 2 me.. very unstable and had a gap between bed and mattress.

mariebaby3 · 19/02/2021 15:46

we have decided to go for the next2me dream. the snuzpod was smaller than i expected.

MrsB2019x · 19/02/2021 15:56

I have the Next2Me Magic, it can be attached to divans and it goes up quite high! Will keep the side up when I’m sleeping though and just lower it to get baby out

Thanks everyone for your recommendations I will start doing my research into these tonight ☺️

I wouldn't get the chicco next to me dream. It has a lip that means it's not level/flush to the bed. The side is not easy to pull up and down at all. The instructions contradict themselves on what height the babies mattress should sit in comparison to the bed in order to be safe. The chicco model with the zip instead of the pull down bar looks like it might be better!

All babies are different but my daughter is 5 months and never really settled in the dream so has only spent a handful of nights in it. Consider getting an extra long Moses basket. Schnuggle make one and my daughter is still in it.
