Line getting faint

Hi all

I woke up and did a strip test. The positive line was not as strong as it has been. I did another one a while later and you could barely see it, although my urine was very diluted. A clearblue timing one still indicates I'm 2-3 weeks. Has anyone any recommendations? Is this a sign of miscarriage?

I wouldn't rely too much on this. You'll drive yourself barmy. And should stop testing.
I had a miscarriage in December and it took a full two weeks for me to get a negative test as it takes time for levels to drop.
Also I think that you would still get a positive test until you have actually miscarried as I needed to continue to test in case of retained tissue.

Yes it can be. Though hard I would try and hold off testing for a day and do a test in the morning or try and hold wee for a few hours so it's not diluted. If you're past when you're expected period is you don't need to wait for first morning urine. Good luck x

Getting a faint line isn't a sign of miscarriage.

Sometimes a sign of a chemical pregnancy. But not always.

How would I know if I have a chemical pregnancy? Would I still get symptoms? I'm a few days past my period due date

You'd know if you were having a chemical pregnancy as you would start having cramps and bleeding.

Put the tests down and try and relax. I drove myself mad testing daily and comparing tests and would freak out if one was slightly lighter than the other

I would stop testing , it's not helping. I'm 10 weeks and as soon as I got my BFP I I didn't test. The bigger reassurance for me is the fact my period wasn't coming. If you have no bleeding and pregnancy symptoms just assume all is fine until you know otherwise

I don't think chemical pregnancies ever really get dark lines because the HCG levels don't rise enough. How dark were your first lines? I had what I took to be a chemical about 8 years ago. I was 9 days late, did 2 tests which were positive but very faint and the next day came on my period which was extra heavy and painful. With all my other kids I've had dark lines from around the day I missed my period.

Botanica · 19/02/2021 09:35

It could be a chemical. That's exactly how mine went. Lines grew stronger as normal until about 4w then faded and disappeared. My period then came a few days to a week later.

I had very dark lines the past few days. I also have been having symptoms nausea and metal mouth but they have been weakening too. :(

You're still very early. My pregnancy symptoms came and went in the first few weeks. It was only around 6 week mark they stayed. Stop testing and take one day at a time.

Symptoms coming and going don't mean anything. Mine disappeared at 6 weeks and never returned.

Thanks all. I'm super worried its a chemical pregnancy now. I suppose I just have to sit tight
