Sharp twinges in middle of abdomen?

I’m 6 weeks today, no children and had 2 early losses last year. I just noticed this afternoon and evening I’m getting the occasional very sharp twinges right in the middle of my lower abdomen... they only last a second but sort of make me wince a bit.

Should I be worried? I haven’t experienced any bleeding and it’s definitely in the middle, not on either side.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It all sounds normal to me.
As long as its not accompanied by bleeding its completely normal

@SnooperTrooper12345 thank you! It seems to have stopped today... maybe it was just a muscle spasm or my uterus getting bigger who knows? Everything worries me!

I'm 13 weeks and have been feeling this for a good few weeks now. It happen when I make any sort of sudden movement or twist, like standing up without being slow and careful.

I think it's because of your cervix stretching as well as tummy muscles pulling as they're moving and shifting. If you're worried at all though you can always give your midwife/pregnancy hospital a quick call to help check and put your mind at ease

Perfectly normal, I’ve had it with both pregnancies. Bloody sore sometimes though. I think it’s all the internal stretching that’s going on.

Good luck with it all x

@AllTheOtherNamesWereTaken ah thank you that it reassuring. It actually started after a stressful day at work (at my desk at home anyway as I’m wfh due to covid) and it was after I stood up and then continued on and off all evening. I wonder if I’d been tensed up and caused it when I got up or something.

I do sometimes get milder twinges when I move positions it must be due to all the stretching xx

@Mixitupalot that’s good to know! Yeah it must be that. Everything is such a worry isn’t it! I also get mild period type cramps on and off too, and get scared I’m miscarrying, even though with my mc it started with brown spotting and then red, and I didn’t start cramping until nearer the end when the mc actually really started to happen.

My first pregnancy ended in mc at 9 weeks, brown spotting started at around 7+4 so I’m very anxious all the time that it’s going to happen again!

Thank you for your reassuring answers. When I google these symptoms it’s a mixed bag on different websites but when I read one which says bad news I freak out. Bloody google! Xx
