This is my 1st pregnancy so I’m unsure how everything works. I booked a phone appointment with my midwife for the 2nd of March, but today I got a text to say an antenatal appointment has been booked for me on the 24th of Feb.

What does the antenatal appointment consist of? I thought it would all just be done over the phone because of covid.

Thanks Smile

Hi, you'll be having a blood and urine test if this is your first appointment as they need to do checks

It can be anything... But possibly for your booking bloods I would imagine

Hi, my first appointment is with my midwife at 9+4 and is in person.

She will test urine, take blood, and check weight and blood pressure. Then from experience, go through quite an extensive list of questions which go together and get put in your pregnancy notes. Usually after that booking in appointment I receive my 12 week scan appointment within a few days.

Congratulation x

Booking is done in 2 parts nowadays.
You have phone call for history and in person for bloods, urine, blood pressure, weight & height.

Thanks for all your comments. It was probably a silly question but I like to know what to prepare myself for!
