Hi, I had my baby three weeks ago and ever since I’ve been so constipated, I’m eating healthy and plenty of fresh juice etc!
But every time I pass a bowel movement the toilet is full with blood and it hurts so much! I get stomach ache after too! I’m going to ring doctors in the morning see if there’s any creams etc to help with the pain! But I’m such a worrier at the min!! Anyone got any extra tips to help me through it haha! Soon as I know I need to go I panic and don’t want to 😂 thanks in advance and very sorry for the minging post!! Xxx

Do you have piles?
Are you drinking LOTS of water?

Raising your knees on a small step etc can help

I second raising your feet up to have a bowl movement, like squatting ass to grass it lines up your colon perfectly for a smoother exit.
It is possible that you've got internal hemorrhoids, quite common after pregnancy due to the pressure from the weight of baby.
I would speak to your GP if it's quite bad, they may have something to help ease the symptoms.

I am currently in my 2nd trimester and have suffered a lot with constipation in my 2nd,3rd, 4th month. I have started drinking celery juice with lemon ginger first thing every morning empty stomach and it has done wonders to my digestion. no more constipation. You only need 250-300 ml of it . Honestly I understand your pain and would try anything to cure constipation and I actually had tried almost everything and anything and celery juice really worked ! I hope you feel better soon !

Dried prunes or figs!

sproutsnbacon · 17/02/2021 21:19

Syrup of figs is good

Either piles or possibly a fissure? Especially if you’ve been constipated and passed a hard stool! Anusol helps a lot, as does taking fibogel to soften things up! If things were particularly painful I found sitting in a warm sitz bath after going To the bathroom helped! Hope you feel better soon!

Try prune juice or sugar free gummy bears but start slow. You might want to read the review on amazon

katiemumma20 · 18/02/2021 09:13

Also try a sitz bath off Amazon. I’ve found it’s helped before not sure why they aren’t more widely recommended/ available x

I've always heard it recommended not to drink fruit juice, but drink water + eat fruit for the fibre. Obviously there are exceptions like prune juice. High fibre foods like apples and broccoli could also help, but I agree with other posters, I think there may be something else going on and you should seek professional medical advice.
