Pregnancy pain

I have recently found out I’m pregnant, roughly 3-4 weeks, so it’s very early days. Prior to this I experienced a miscarriage (at roughly 6 weeks). Since finding out our exciting news, I have been experiencing cramping/period type pains, in the uterus area. I can see from research this is normal. However I have had 2 episode of very intense, acute pain, they only last for 10 minutes. But it also makes me feel sick and my body temperature increases too. I have spoken to the midwife, who said it’s too early to investigate and if it occurs again to contact the GP. Due to me previous experience of a miscarriage, I am paranoid about any little pain/discomfort and automatically think the worst. Any one have similar symptoms, and does this sound normal?

Hi @Nattasi,
I had one episode of really intense pain when I was around 3 - 4 weeks. Left me with my head over the toilet bowl and rolling around on the bathroom floor... it was accompanied by hot flush/sweats and terrified me at the time. Lasted 20 minutes and that was it. I then had another week or so of mild period like cramps' on and off, but nothing at all like that first episode.

I did ask a nurse about it a few days later she said ring EPU if it happened again or if it was one sided.

I did find an old thread on here with other posters discussing similar and something else on a preg website that said you can get contraction like pains early on as all the blood is increasing around your uterus.

I have had no spotting/bleeding at all since my last period but still early days for me. I have a scan booked for fri when I should be 8w so will see then if all is as it should be.

Sorry to not be able to reassure more... pregnancy is an awful game of wait and see that I really wasn't prepared for!

@GeorgiePorge

Thank you for your response. It is reassuring know it’s not just me!

Hope all goes well with your scan x

Hi. I know this is an old thread,I am trying my luck in case anyone sees this. I just had similar experience....contraction like pain that held me in my lower abdomen and bottom so much that I had to lay in bed immediately. It's was only for few seconds. I don't kñow why It happened or if it's normal. I'm on my 6th week.
