Leaking after having a wee!

Hi ladies so I'm almost 15 weeks. Besides the usual pregnancy gross symptoms every time I go for a wee after I seem to have a little leak into my pants like I'll go for a wee then always dribble abit in my pants after ... I don't think its discharge? Well I'm not sure to be honest! Has anyone else had this problem? X

No but at times I've been so violently sick I've peed a bit. I've ordered a kegel exerciser thing in the hope that strengthening my pelvic muscles will help.

Hey @Katieemma123 this happened to me and it was because I had a urine infection and wasn't fully emptying my bladder every time. Might not be the same for you but if you have any other symptoms might be worth getting checked.

Katieemma123 · 16/02/2021 14:52

I've just came off antibiotics for BV and had my urine tested recently and was okay its the tiniest little dribble! Having treatment for thrush atm so it could be cos of that?? I'll mention it when I see my midwife in a couple of weeks unless I get any other symptoms x

This happened to me continuously from 15vweeksbonwards in all of my pregnancies. Try leaning forwards and backwards before you get off the seat the bladder seems to get a bit squashed by the womb, so it's not empty, and you only realise when you get up... Also, do the pelvic floor exercises!!

Dia12 · 16/02/2021 15:01

I'm so glad you asked this as I'm having the same problem and getting quite obsessive about wiping down there.
I too am suffering from thrush and using some cream to treat it.

In pregnancy everything is dilated, so I feel like pee just dribbles out easier?! I had recurrent UTIs as a teenager and in my early 20s, and I always always do a little stand up/squat pee right at the end of going, as it feels like I've emptied my bladder properly, but when I stand up a little turns out I haven't (is possibly to do with gravity?) maybe try that to make sure you're emptying your bladder properly?

Katieemma123 · 16/02/2021 15:14

@Dia12 I am always on knicker watch I know exactly how you feel. Always checking and making sure its dry down there I'm using canisten combi atm but I'm really not keen on using the petessary as I've had 2 bleeds already 😶

Yes girls I did read somewhere the gravity pulls the left overs out if you haven't emptied properly how odd I'm.so prone to infections down below when pregnant so these things really worry me but I've litrally just finished antibiotics so It must be a bladder thing. Gonna start doing my pelvic floors I think and just check with my midwife at my 16 week app xx

@Katieemma123 I had BV at 10 weeks and it really worried me! I had no symptoms but it was picked up with a swab at EPU. I had antibiotics like you and seems OK since. Everything is a worry in pregnancy isn't it! xx

Katieemma123 · 16/02/2021 15:28

@MintGreenLife honestly it's horrible I've had a uti bv and now thrush and it will probably be like this all the way through for me. And being pregnant you don't always get symptoms of them. So you really have to keep an eye on your discharge one slight little problem I go and check now just incase I was ill with covid when I was 10 weeks pregnant and lost my sense of smell. So diddnt realise I had bv and it almost cost my pregnancy as I started to bleed 😒 was so scary !xxx

@Katieemma123 oh bless you. I had bleeding too when I was found to have BV, which is why I ended up in EPU. It took three days of bleeding before they would see me and I was absolutely terrified, but it turned out I had a polyp on my cervix, and BV, so that's what was causing the bleeding. It's good to get things checked to be on the safe side :) I honestly don't know how I would know if the BV came back as I didn't have any symptoms first time round xxx

Katieemma123 · 16/02/2021 15:45

@MintGreenLife honestly sometimes you don't know u even have it! But it's got a very distinctive fishy smell and you get alot more discharge then normal and well fingers crossed we don't get it anymore lol whoever said pregnancy was glam 😂

@Katieemma123 I didn't have any smell or unusual discharge at all, but apparently I did have it according to the swab results, must have just been extremely mild! I've seen you can get at home swabs to check, so I thought I might do one of those once in a while seeing as I didn't even have any symptoms before so could easily have it again without realising. Haha I hope not! x

Katieemma123 · 16/02/2021 16:29

@MintGreenLife where do you buy those ? When I was at work I worked in a care home I was dipping my urine every week but been furloughed due to covid so I can't do that now xx
