Dh are currently not preventing pregnancy for number 2, basically we're at that point where a sibling would be nice, but we're in no hurry so we've decided that rather than try we just won't actively prevent.

Thats the back story.

I am due on my period tomorrow, however I've just finished the shortest and heaviest period I've had in years. I came on unexpectedly on Saturday morning, in the space of 10 minutes I'd come on, flooded and ruined a pair of knickers and joggers, luckily the sofa is brown otherwise there would have been a huge stain there too. I literally dripped blood on the floor walking from the living room to the toilet. I had to double up tampon and towel all day Saturday and Sunday, as I was that heavy, then yesterday, nothing, the tampon I put in after my shower came out blood free and was quite painful to remove because no fluid.

It's so unusual for me to have such a short period (I'm usually 4/5 days of mild flow)

I have recently lost my job and had a few other stressful things going on, I've been on a range if supplements for the past year and a half for various aliments including hairless and slow healing, but these have been attributed to stress, so it's a vicious circle there.

So my question is, is this a freak reaction to what's going on externally or something else?

Sounds like it could be a chemical pregnancy, you could try taking a pg test now in case there's any hormones left, they don't drop instantly.

Probably too late now for the cleaning blood off things but if you wash them in cold water it doesn't stain, hot water sets the protein in the fabric and permanently stains it.

I would agree with Pp. Sounds like it could be a chemical pregnancy.
Can always buy a test and it may still show hcg

I’ve had cps with normal-ish bleeding and heavy flooding incidents like that with absolutely no chance of being pregnant.

It’s not necessarily a sign.

But it might help you reevaluate what you want. Not preventing is trying. You don’t need to say magic words, you know! Grin

Hope you can get what you want soon.
