Is this normal for hcg to be leftover for this long? Wouldn’t my line be faint after almost 2 months? Has anyone experienced this? I started birth control right after the procedure and had a period during my sugar pills last month.

After my abortion I had to do a pregnancy test 2 weeks after and it came up negative. I was about 5 weeks at the time of the termination. How far along were you at the time of yours? The further along you were, the longer it will take for your hcg levels to drop. Did you have to do a pregancy test 2 weeks after as well? That was standard procedure when I had mine (granted it was 8 years ago) as they needed to check it hard worked (I took tablets). What method did you have for yours? You may need to call wherever you had it done to talk to them as you want to make sure there is no retained tissue. It sounds unlikely you are pregnant again but you definitely need to check out why you are still getting a positive result.

Good luck x

I took a test 2 weeks after and was negative. I took the tablet form. A friend of mine also took this way and it didn’t work for her and she ended up having to go in for an operation. I would definitely get back in touch with the organisation who you dealt with for the abortion. Like the message above could be left over tissue etc. Hope all goes okay for you OP xx

You should have been asked to do a test 2-3 weeks after the termination and contact them if it was still positive. At 7 weeks later, you're either still pregnant, have some tissue remaining causing the result such as molar pregnancy, or you've conceived again. Sorry OP. Definitely go back to wherever you had the procedure done, or early pregnancy unit at your local hospital.

I had this too. HCG remained in my system for almost 2 months because I had retained products. Defibately go back and get checked.
