Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about having a 4D scan, I read online the best time to do it is about 28 weeks. I know sometimes the pictures etc aren’t great but I just love getting to see my little baby on the screen.
Have any of you had any experiences with 4D scans? Were they worth it?
Thanks x x x

I don't know how far you are and where you live. But currently in the UK I don't think anywhere is doing 4d scans

Loved mine at 28 weeks

I had one and it was a good picture but my baby looked so much like my eldest in the 3D scan I felt like I didn't know him when he was born not looking much like him at all! Not sure if that contributed to PND. I decided against it for my third!

We had ours last Wednesday at window to the womb. I was 27+5

It was amazing! I couldn’t believe how clear the photos were.

You so have to sign that you’ve booked the scan for a well-being check, and they no longer offer rescans, or allow you to go for a walk should baby not be cooperating.

I was very much expecting bubba to be facing the wrong way, but I did genuinely book it to make sure everything was looking good after a mmc in the summer, so as long as you’re okay with the possibility of not getting a good photo, then I’d go for it.

I had one at 27 weeks, scan was great etc, but baby looked nothing like the scan when he was born. On the scan he looked like he had a big nose, he came out with a cute lil button nose

Thanks everyone!
@Sansa87 omg how beautiful is that picture! I love it Smile I hope mines that good!
I’ve booked one for March and I had to sign all that stuff, I’m hoping in the next few weeks they ease things but who knows.
I can’t wait to see her little face on the screen xxx

Iv got one booked for tomorrow, 4d scan but that's kind of the least important in terms of I wanted it for a growth and well being firstly, the 4d being a lovely bonus.

Iv seen some amazing ones.... it's crazy what they can do now with scanning! I guess it fills the interim period of this last stretch before meeting our babies 😊

Alexandrababy1 · 16/02/2021 10:26

@3rdtimemomma aw amazing!
Yes they’re very reassuring, I feel like the first scans I had I was sooooo nervous I couldn’t properly enjoy them but I’ve booked this 4D one for March and I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown x x x

@Alexandrababy1 I know! Me too... so excited!

So how far are you now?

I'll be 28+4 tomorrow for our scan .

Yes I was so so nervous early pregnancy, terrible for the worrying!

I think it's nice to have this excitement especially now when I feel like everything has been taken away from the pregnancy experience! I guess none of us knew how things would be, I think I'd have waited if I'd have known we were still going to be in this lockdown and with everything going on! She's definitely keeping me going through these rubbish times and little things like tomorrow make everything seem better!

I remember finding out I was pregnant in September but it was just when we thought lockdown might be starting to lift and things were getting better.... I thought this as we managed to holiday in Rome in august and were able to travel! We didn't realise we would be coming home with this little lady 😅

lucymagoo · 16/02/2021 10:46

We actually had one at 16 weeks at window the the womb, I didn't realise it was part of the scan we had booked to find out he was a boy, so was a lovely surprise when they switched it on to 3D.

I wasn't sure on them before that but having such a clear video and photos of him has been so lovely! Well worth it I think

Alexandrababy1 · 16/02/2021 10:59

@3rdtimemomma
I’m 23+3 (so excited to get to 6 months haha)
Yeah I agree, this is my first pregnancy and I definitely didn’t imagine it like this, not being able to see friends and family is so hard!
Aw are you having a girl too?
Haha, yeah I thought it would be over by now too, hoping in the next few months when the weather gets nicer it’ll cheer us all up a little bit x x x

Yeah hopefully towards summer things will improve... but Atleast we have our babies to concentrate on 😊
Yes I'm having a girl 😊

I already have a boy and a girl (10 and 7) and this is my 3rd and FINAL baby lol

This is my first (and last) with my new partner though this will be our only one together 😊

So it's been a crap experience and not how we pictured ! X
