Is 6 weeks and 2 days actually 7 weeks?

I went to a private ultrasound on Wednesday and they told me I'm 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant so will that technically be week 6.
Because I'm now 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant so would that be 7 weeks? Because on my pregnancy + app it says currently 7 weeks but 6 weeks and 2 days. So will the baby start looking more like a 7 week embryo this week?

You are 6 weeks 2 days pregnant but this is your 7th week of pregnancy. Baby size will be approx 6 weeks as the 7th week hasn't been completed yet.

No you aren't 7 weeks till its been 5 weeks since ovulation as they add 2 weeks on to that. So if you are 6 weeks +2 then you have another 4 days until you are 7 weeks. The embryo develops really quickly in the first 12 weeks so each extra week makes a big difference

Now it makes sense! I'm really not that clued up at the moment as it is my first pregnancy. However I took a boots pregnancy test on the 25th and that shown up straight away, but that would of made me 3 weeks pregnant, I'm confused as to why this show up so clear at just 3 weeks?
