Sickness still at 15 weeks 🤢

Hi everyone

I’m currently 15weeks + 5 and still being sick. Not constantly but once it starts I find it difficult to stop being sick. Has anyone else experienced this? Also it’s usually the weekend which is so strange. I have a three year old who goes to nursery in the week so the pace changes at the weekend which I love because I miss him loads but I’m not sitting and grazing all day 🤣 Also I don’t know if it’s hormonal surges as it starts and then stops. It’s awful because it’s constant for a good 24/48 period and then fades and I think “Great it’s gone” and then it returns 😭

Anyone else’s experience would be good to hear at this stage. I expected it to have gone by now although with my son, I was sick until about 20 weeks so hoped history wouldn’t repeat itself but clearly it is! Any advice you have or just shared stories would be so good to hear as I’m struggling with the isolation and feeling pretty lonely and down at the moment. What I would give to be able to spend a day at soft play just having some fun!!

It's really rubbish!! was sick until maybe 16/17 weeks. Long enough after my first trimester to worry that I was stuck with it for the while duration of my pregnancy, anyway! I remember a little of what you're describing - feeling better one day then having another bout. Thankfully it tapered off. Tried all of the ginger and the sips of water and everything else but the only thing that made any difference at all was making sure that I was never, ever even the slightest bit peckish. I had a wheelbarrow of plain snacks on me at all times and just ate something small at least once an hour to keep me going. Hopefully you'll be feeling much better soon and you can enjoy the lovely middle bit! Take care.

My pregnancies were very similar so hopefully for you it will be coming to an end in the next few weeks.
I was sick from 5 weeks till giving birth and it came in waves. Nothing cured it and I stupidly refused medication (I think I'd have had them if I had my time again especially with 2nd pregnancy). Eating little and often helped, keeping hydrated and resting regularly.
I kept telling myself it will end and also strong symptoms were a positive that everything was going well.
Best wishes it won't last forever.

I’m in a kinda similar boat - I’m 14 weeks and sickness is still here. My vomiting only started at 12 weeks but did feel nauseous beforehand though. And weirdly so far my vomiting has only been on Mondays?!

Don’t have any words of wisdom but you aren’t alone x

Thank you @PunchyAnts and @Maybemay123 I think I am managing it better than I was! I definitely don’t let myself get hungry now but sometimes I don’t have any control over it and it just happens. Ugh 😩 I’m hoping I get to enjoy the lovely middle bit as there’s got to be some respite hopefully! I also refused medication. I found it made me worse in other ways. Hope you’re both okay now ❤️

@MrsB2019x that’s so strange and like mine which comes on at the weekend or rarely on a Monday. It’s a cycle so I’ll be sick for at least 24/48 hours and then it will stop. I don’t actually feel able to leave bed yet 🤯 Hope you feel better soon, this is so so rough. Is anything making you feel better? I find granola (plain) helps settle my stomach but if I’m going to be sick, i usually am and there’s nothing I can do to stop it xx

I was sick from about 7 or 8 weeks until 20 weeks if I remember rightly.

I'm having a boy and have been so lucky to not suffer with sickness at all however, my sister in law is pregnant with 2nd girl and she has had same 2 pregnancies which unfortunately have been very sicky ones for a long time! She was very sick until around 20 weeks. Doctor prescribed something which helped to calm it down a lot but she still had the odd day sickness right up until towards the end!
Not very nice at all so I feel for you!
Maybe it's a girl!? 💕

PeggyHill · 15/02/2021 08:17

I was sick until about 18 weeks with both of mine

PeggyHill · 15/02/2021 08:18

Can you get ondanzetron from your GP? Get wafers rather than tablets- that way you can't throw then up as soon as you've taken them Grin

AR52 · 15/02/2021 08:26

I'm 25 weeks with a boy and only stopped being sick about 4 weeks ago 🙈 I still feel sick now and again but not physically thrown up! I found it worse when I'd rush round in the morning, or if I started coughing I'd wretch and be sick!

Fingers crossed your coming to the end of it now! Have you got any anti sickness tablets?

SameToo · 15/02/2021 08:32

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I was sick until 40 weeks Confused They offered me anti sickness tablets but I didn’t bother. It was very unpleasant I have to say. Ginger tea and ginger biscuits helped, as well as salty crisps. I hope it stops soon!

LP15132 · 15/02/2021 14:21

I felt the same at 14-16 weeks, i was hoping it would have gone away but was feeling very much the same! non of the old wives tales worked and i had to take anti nausea tablets they were the only thing that took the edge off. it was my super smell that made everything unbearable, i was a right mess! i literally just survived so god knows how your doing it with another child (your a ledge!)

I'm 23wks now and it did subside (i cant remember when all the days blur into one I'm that bored with lockdown!) and my super smell dulled slightly which made a HUGE difference. i remember feeling like it would never end and crying thinking about have to cope with it throughout the whole pregnancy. its been replaced with PGP though (right laugh) but its certainly more bearable, for now!

Just keep going, do what you have to do to get through the days and I'm sure it will subside soon!

MooreLew · 15/02/2021 14:24

I was still being sick in labour with my first! Had horrendous hyperemesis. Had it again with this pregnancy, when I was still being sick at 22 weeks I thought it would never end. Thankfully at 28 weeks I feel fine now! It just disappeared. Hopefully it will soon for you too! I had the same, one day I'd be fine and then it would happen again. I hope yours goes soon Flowers

Helenknowsbest · 15/02/2021 14:34

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and still throwing up everyday. I've accepted it now. Would have loved to it have stopped by now but doubt it's going to change lol.
