How much caffeine do you ladies intake daily? Including fizzy drinks, tea, coffee and even chocolate?

No judgement. Just interested x

I drank about eleventy billion cups of tea a day when pregnant with all of my children!

Starstella21 · 14/02/2021 21:09

I have one caffeinated tea and one nespresso coffee a day. No caffeinated fizzy drinks I've replaced with Dash cans from Sainsbury's if I fancy a fizzy drink. I eat chocolate 2/3 times a week average I guess.

Shitloads. I don't keep track but I have a toddler already who still wakes a lot through the night.

The evidence base for this new caffeine limit is very flimsy. I take it with a pinch of salt.

kensue19 · 15/02/2021 07:39

One bar of milk chocolate a day so about 20mg caffeine. After having recurrent miscarriages I cut all tea and coffee out when pregnant as I don't see it as worth the risk. I know most friends and family continue with one coffee a day though.

ame88 · 15/02/2021 08:12

I have 2 instant coffees a day and the odd bit of chocolate!
I'm getting such bad night sleeps at the moment it's definitely helping!

hulloall · 15/02/2021 08:18

2 coffees a day.

I can't look after my 2 young children (3&10 months) without it,

BiddyPop · 15/02/2021 08:25

2 mugs of cafetière coffee first thing, ordinary sized mugs. Also possibly a 2espresso shots nesprosso mid morning (I use 1 ordinary and 1 decaf vivalto pod to make it, and foamed oat milk).

If. Don't have coffee mid morning, I probably have tea, which I take weak. But I might drink 4 mugs in a day (my tea mug is 0.5 l ).

I really don't eat much chocolate at all. Or fizzy drinks. Although ill occasionally have a can of coke mid afternoon if the day is going badly.

I tend to move to decaf coffee at lunch if I have anymore, but will drink tea right up to bedtime,

Wouldnt like to say. Tea, Coffee & Diet coke make up about 95% of my liquid intake so probably ALOT. It is what it is 😂🙈

Flittingaboutagain · 15/02/2021 10:24

I don't drink tea with caffeine anyway and switched to decaf coffee and caffeine free diet pepsi if I want fizz. So I would guess just the bit that's in my options hot chocolate that I am having about three times a week whilst it is so cold and the mini curly wurly I crave a few times a week too. Hopefully way under the guidelines.

CoalCraft · 15/02/2021 10:37

When I was pregnant I decided not to drink 2 cups of tea or glasses of coke a day. I went off tea though and consider coke a bit of a treat so most days I had none. I don't drink coffee.

Sceptre86 · 15/02/2021 11:52

First pregnancy one cup of regular tea about 5x a week. With second no tea at all just milk and fizzy drinks only at birthday or special occasions. With my current pregnancy decaf tea 5x a week and more fizzy pop last week than I had in the whole of last year. I need to knock the fizzy drink on the head.

Sceptre86 · 15/02/2021 11:53

Not a big fan of chocolate at the moment but dh bought me some for Valentine's so will probably indulge over the coming week.

happytoday73 · 15/02/2021 11:56

4 decaf teas a day. Occasionally bar of chocolate.. No coffee or fizzy drinks..

NamechangeTTC · 16/02/2021 06:08

Pretty close to zero.

I was on 7 pepsi max a day but switched to caffeine free when ttc. Now have 2-3 of those.

Haven't had coffee or tea since we found out. Don't really like chocolate but had the odd quality street at work

intheshallows · 16/02/2021 06:15

Two or three cups of instant coffee a day -as others have said- read expecting better by Emily oster.

I am however due my baby in a couple of weeks- for most of the pregnancy I've stuck to one or two cups of instant coffee a day.

WomenAndVulvas · 16/02/2021 06:18

I have one filter coffee every day, as much chocolate as I feel like (always dark chocolate), and the occasional cup of green tea. I have never drunk fizzy drinks.

gigi556 · 16/02/2021 06:20

I've always started the day with about 2 cups of filter coffee. I'm now mixing the beans with 50/50 regular beans and decaf beans. I don't know how much I need the caffeine or just the ritual of having the coffee. Sometimes, I have normal tea in the afternoon if I'm flagging.

Terriblecreature · 16/02/2021 06:25

In all honesty on some days, not all I will have a medium take our coffee from Starbucks/Costa etc alongside 1 can of Coke zero and some chocolate.

I had the same in my first pregnancy although towards the end I had coffee everyday and my DS was 8lb 1oz so not tiny but not big either.
