Lost mucus plug at 30weeks?

Hi I am 30 weeks pregnant. Last night I went to for a wee and when I wiped there was a dark brown blob about the size of a 20p piece, along with some more clear/yellowy mucus. Enough that I felt it when I wiped before I even saw it if you see what I mean.
Called triage and the midwife said it's probably nothing and as long as there's no fresh blood or fluid it's okay.
Today I have no discharge but I have been having lower back pain, period type cramps and the odd sharp pain in my vagina and around my bump.
It really doesn't feel like contractions as such, it's more of a constant ache with the odd big twinge but nothing I would describe as painful as such.
Should I ring my midwife again and tell her about these other symptoms?
Thanks for reading

Yeah I would ring triage again. They will probably ask you to go in and be monitored to see if they are contractions or not.

Definitely ring them.

I'd say always ring triage as they are better placed to make a call on what needs monitoring and what's normal.

I lost part of my plug at 28 weeks. Probably about 2 inches by half an inch of plug. I spoke with triage and they said not to worry as long as I didn't have any other signs and it would likely regrow. I remember with my first my plug was more like a golf ball in size so much much larger

I would ring triage again just to be sure.

It sounds a bit like my 3rd trimester I lost my plug at about 32 weeks and had intermittent cramps. I was so convinced he was going to be premature. He was born at 42 weeks by c section after a failed induction. He really did not want to come out. I'm just telling this story as I know how scary it can be but I want to try and help you see that it might just be nothing serious.

Thanks guys - will give them a call now. Thanks for all the advice! It's so hard because I don't want to keep calling but also don't want to sit at home ignoring things that dont feel right!

I'm glad you're calling them. That's what they're there for. I definitely would in your situation.

Of it makes you feel better. Then definitely give them a ring.
However, they won't be worried about losing mucus plug as it can be lost and regrow several times and doesn't really mean anything 😊

I lost my plug at 35 weeks and DS was still late. Hope this is the same for you and not a worry.

Hi all, spoke to midwife again last night but she still wasn't concerned so I've been at home trying to relax! The cramps have stopped and no more discharge so looks like a false alarm thanks for all the replies
