MMC or any hope?

I went for a private scan a week ago at what's supposed to be quite a good clinic. The sonographer said I was around 6 weeks but no heartbeat. However she was quite positive and said that the fetal pole was too small and that I should come back in 2 weeks.
I've since looked at the report she made and discovered the fetal pole was measuring over 6.3mm. Everything I've read seems to suggest if there is no heartbeat this is basically the end of the road. However I'm confused by the sonographer's optimism. Is there any hope or is another scan just a formality? I'm going to the EPU early next week anyway after speaking to an NHS midwife.

Sorry when I say too small. I mean too small to tell if it was viable or not

I'm so sorry for the confusion. This must feel awful for you. The best thing to do is what your doing and speak to the midwife ASAP and see if you can get a scan at the hospital.
I've got no advice but just wanted to say I'll keep everything crossed for you

Just focus on that for the short term until you get clarity

As I said on the other thread, in my experience I’ve found somographers at private clinics to be too optimistic (I went to window to the womb), but that’s just my experience.

It may still be fine - so I think it’s best just to wait and see, but also be aware that it could go either way. This is such an anxious time and all you can do is wait and be kind to yourself.

Please keep us updated, if you have a scan early next week that’s great as you only have to wait a few days. Hope it’s good news for you xx

Very sadly found out today it was a MMC. However glad to have at least caught it so early.
