Hi all,
im not sure where to post this and getting quite stressed
i had lletz 2 years ago to remove CIN 2 and treatment went well. I had a clear normal Smear 6 months after treatment and was put back on 3 year recall.
All has been fine since.
Now I'm pregnant and my cervix seems to be so sensitive- I have a light bleed sometimes after sex or when straining if very constipated.
I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I've had 3 scans and baby is well- which leaves me wondering why I'm bleeding.
could my cervix be more sensitive due to lletz?
im worrying like mad that the abnormal cells are back but then also unsure if it's just due to pregnancy hormones as these symptoms have only started since pregnancy.
Has anyone else experienced a more sensitive cervix during pregnancy after lletz? Xxx
thanks xxxx

Lletz is a reason for cervical scans, doesnt normally cause a problem this early and they tend to scan about 16weeks onwards.

Get checked re this bleed then speak to your midwife to make sure shes aware of lletz and you should be referred for scans. They will advise further if it looks short.

I've come across lots of ladies on MN that have posted about pregnancy after lletz so hopefully someone will come along soon

I had lletz for CIN 2 nine months before I fell pregnant, I had bleeding on and off, particularly after sex, and bled during my 12 week scan. I had a consultant appointment at 21 weeks anyway, but my midwife said to abstain from intercourse until then. I have cervical ectropion where cells that usually line the inside of the cervix grow on the outside instead, they're redder and prone to bleeding. I've had two colposcopy's since pregnancy as like you was worried that the abnormal cells had come.back and the consultant applied silver nitrate to the cells, which seems to have helped.

I did have other issues with my cervix in pregnancy as it shortened and I remained under consultant care until 26 weeks.

Worth talking to your midwife if you're concerned and seeing if you can be referred.

Until 36 weeks I meant re the consultant care

Thank you for your replies.
I told my midwife at booking appointment who said they'll check the length of my cervix at 12 week scan and she didn't seem to worried.
Me on the other hand, I just wanna know why I'm bleeding- makes me worry.
I'm reassured that baby is ok as every check has shown bleeding is coming from my cervix and nothing to do with the baby.
Hopefully I'll get some answers soon- when I called EPU they said that cervixes do get really sensitive in pregnancy and that it can be normal but I didn't have this in my last pregnancy (before lletz) so now just paranoid.

@indigo27 I had bleeding at 10 weeks (now 16 weeks) and I also had a LLETZ about 5 years ago. Have you had an internal examination to check your cervix since the bleeding? I did and was found to have a polyp on my cervix, which they are just going to leave until after baby is here. Seems to be nothing to worry about, not sure if they are common after LLETZ x
